Louise got her start in advertising in Atlanta, Georgia in 1975. During a serious recession, she took a part-time job as a secretary/receptionist at a small ad agency. She quickly moved into other areas of the firm, including media placement for their numerous accounts. From there, she went to work for Mace Advertising, the coop advertising agency for the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company and American Motors. On the JSB Co. account she worked directly with the wholesalers and the Brewery coordinating their television and radio media in seven southeastern states.
She was then offered a job as Jr. Account Executive with Burton-Campbell Advertising, one of Atlanta’s largest independently owned agencies. She started out on the Church’s Fried Chicken account, and later was promoted to Account Executive servicing financial accounts First Union National Bank and National Bank of Georgia. Louise moved home in 1983 to start a family. She rejoined the advertising world in 1986, and in 1989 opened her own firm, Martin Advertising, with the help of Judy Forrest. For 17 years, Louise and Judy operated an “in home” operation, but when growth dictated the hiring of an additional Graphic Designer in 2006, they took over a suite of offices next to her husband’s law firm on Greenville Street. email: louise@martin-advertising.com
